No
i have bought the Cokin Z-Pro Grad ND/Blue/Tobacco Filter Kit (U961)
for a 10 - 22 m lens. what size adaptor ring do i need for this kit?

thanks!

There is probably a number moulded into the lens cap, possibly with a "ø" beside it. This number refers to the diameter of the cap and is the same as the ring size you need.

Failing that, go to your friendly local camera shop and ask them to find out for you. Repay their kindness (if they manage to help myou out!) by buying the ring from them.

It might also help if you said exactly which lens you were talking about - even a clue as to which system it's from (Canon, Nikon etc). (The Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM has a filter size of 77mm, according to their website.)

It's 77mm, but be aware that an adaptor ring and filter holder may vignette at the very wide end of the zoom.
I use Lee filters and holders, and for this you can buy a special 'wide-angle' adaptor that doesn't extend forward as much (and costs twice as much!!)

The Z-Pro series should be OK on a SWA but the P series can indeed have vignetting problems unless the lower profile filter holder is used or a "normal" P holder is adapted by gutting the front slot off.

thanks for th ereplies. ots a rpesent for my boyfriend and i know nothing abotu photography so am a bit lost! he has a canon 1000d. might have to go to a camera store then!
