Correct way of backing up images from LR2

I would like some help on the correct way for backing up my edited photos out of LR2. I already back up the hi res JPEGS when I have finished editing them, but what is the correct way of backing up the reference files to keep the changes made in PP.

It only backs up the catalog - so that's the develop settings and previews. You have to backup your raws yourself.
