Am I out of touch?

Can a Canon AF (Tamron make 28-300 XR (IF)) lens, bought for my old EOS 300V, fit and work - on a EOS1000D?

Any help much appreciated - thanks! Jeremy
 
Any AF lens with an eos fitting, should fit any eos camera.
 
Thanks Gerod. I believe that too, but think that the EOS100D is a digital camera and old camera is not! Any views on that? Thanks again Jeremy
 
I've got a Tamron 28-300 IF XR LD etc that has been used on my 300D / 30D / 50D

Depends how old the lens was. 2 of my old sigma's for my canon 500N didn't work on the digital body, but they were 10-15 year old at the time. Could have worked if they had been re-chipped (wasn't worth hassle at the time)
