Could someone please sugest a setup for closeup

What I mean is table top setup, not the camera, flash, tripod, lighting etc ast I have all that.

Rather what you use for stands, backgrounds, anything from the material to what holds it.

I have considered heavy matt black curtain or dress material, and two lighting stands either side of the table with a cross bar to hold the material, which can then come down onto and over the table, am I over engineering a simple setup.

I think it will be difficult to keep the black, black if you had the object on the material and the lights onto that. I'm no expert but you may need some separation.

Yes, that is what I considered, you have just saved me buying a small tent, I will keep the background 2+ feet away.
