Couple B&W photos

Im learning at the D90 atm which ive took these with

I cropped this and put it in black and white pity i didn't get the focus spot on but i liked the capture its of my son at the local park

Took this at random wasn't sure if it was classed as a portrait or landscape prefered the black and white look again on it

Rather like the comp of #2, and its contrast

#1 is nice, but I would have liked to see eye contact.

Thanks for the nice comments and i liked the alternative look to the 1st image maybe i have too many photos with him on slide or other items with him looking at me so this stood out to me But i do get your point

No 1 is nice but I really like the 2nd one - it's a well-framed image and I like the contrast of the figures and shapes against the water. Nice to have caught a bird in flight as well.
