Couple of shots from yesterday at the Thame Country Show. I know they are not of the standard you guys achieve, but i am trying to learn. Any helpful advice would be appreciated, other than spend three years pension on a decent lens. Taken with a D300 (first time out) and a Sigma 70-300 apo etc!

Ok.........

Pic1 - try and get at a similar eye level to the bird
pic2 - try to capture the entire bird from head to tail tip

(I have a couple of bird shots in my gallery if you'd like to view)

Good sharp images with good colours. What camera do you use?
 
Hi Andy,

I would have liked to get on same level as bird but had a metal barrier to contend with in both cases. Camera was a D300, and it was my first try out with it, so much to learn:). I know the lens used is not the sharpest, but its a case of what the funds will allow. I think very shortly i will be obtaining a better lens.
