Crabs

Just some photos I took on holiday, at two beaches in Wales. First crabs I've ever seen (not including TV, anyway)

Already spotted a few problems with them myself - not enough depth of field, there was very little light so I couldn't really go beyond f4 or something like that - but I'd like to know what people think.

A nice set good to see something different.

yeah good to see summin else for a change
some look a little soft and as you mention the dof is a little shallow, could do with a soft diffused flash and increase the f no.
no.2 looks the best for me i like the crop and the composition fills the frame nicely

A flash might be a good idea. I don't really like using artificial lighting, but I suppose it's a sensible idea for when it's not sunny.

I would shoot at f11 and use a flash, even a diffused one on or off camera would help in difficult lighting situations and have the advantage of a better dof due to the aperture
