Saw this branch during an afternoons walk as it was getting overcast and struggling for images.
Does this work, do you think?

Thanks for looking

Was there much colour in it, moss etc? The other thing that I would consider is cropping just below the branches at the top left and possibly cloning out the bright sky

Thanks I’ll have another crack at it soon.

I think that is better, the subject stands out more. Perhaps one to revisit on a foggy morning

Yes I think the edited image is an improvement.

Good idea. Thanks.

Well I've had another go at the image. I've cropped out the sky and branches in the top-left corner as suggested. I think it's improved somewhat.... but what do you guys think?

I like the color version. I like the color of the leaves being framed by the branches. I think a slight vignette will help draw attention to that. I also noticed the duck hidden in the lower right quadrant. While I like the idea of it, I'm not sure it belongs. Just my thoughts

Colour version is much better ... don't get rid of the duck!
If you could avoid the Rhododendron leaves, even better IMO.
