Ever since I dropped the camera some month's ago (just after paying for a sensor clean), I've been having to spend ages in pp removing spots. So, I can avoid the situation no longer.

Just need to check... are these what I need for a full frame sensor? And do I need a loupe too? I can't see dust with my naked eye, but my pics are a bloomin mess! Any cheaper alternatives or recommendations?

I have a rocket blower, but that's doing nowt!
 
Actually, I normally use smaller swabs on a full frame. The full size ones are easier to catch on the edge of the mirror box and wipe oil on the sensor - I know, I've done it.

I use 1.3 crop ones on my 1Ds. A loupe is superb.

I bought an Arctic Butterfly and have only wet cleaned once since then (about a year ago)

You have found the right swabs for your camera. You should use these with the Vdust + formula, but only after you have done a “dry” clean first or else any loose debris will get dragged across the sensor.
Blowers don’t really do it for a proper dry clean. Staying with Vis Dust an Artic butterfly is the first line of attack, then the wet clean.
You might also fine a loupe handy as well, there are a couple of makes around but it’s nice to have rather than vital.

I had been using dust aid dry cleaning system but they changed the product and now it's C***!

So I invested in a proper clean at Calumet last week and have bought myself some eclipse stuff. Not looking forward to it but RobertP wrote a really good tutorial on it si I'll read that again before I dive in.

Are they any good? Seems a lot of money for a brush, or whatever it is. I was kinda thinking keep going with the rocket blower weekly, and then a wet clean when needed. Such as now. Otherwise, the cost of arctic butterfly, loupe, swabs, fluid, etc and I could afford for my local camera shop to do it once a month for more than a year!
 
The 5D is notorious for harbouring oil around the edges beyond the sensor. That's why myself and many others have had zero luck and steered clear of the Butterfly and similar brush types. It's just too easy to get near the edges and catch that oil. I went to town on mine in frustration once and gave the border regions outside the sensor a thorough wet cleaning. It has probably done some good but I haven't put that butterfly inside since to check. Having said that, I use the 1.0 swabs without any problems.

A loupe is an excellent investment. I wouldn't be without mine. There's the Delkin Sensor Scope which has 4 LEDs, and the Visible Dust Sensor Loupe, which has 6. I have the VD one and it's good. I think they may have recently updated it.

I've used the Dust Aid sticky pads too. They work ok.

What did they change? I've only bought one kit quite a while ago and found it to be ok.
