Crop to full frame

Is it worth me selling my canon 650d for a 5D mk1. Been thinking about it for a while. I mainly do automotive photography and picture quality is now something I want to make more important then quaintly.

All help would be appreciated

Seconded...bought one recently and I can't fault the AF. Loving the thing, particularly now I have an old canon 28-70 f2.8L attached to it

I've never had a problem with my 5D's AF even for night time shooting but I only (well 99.99% of the time) use the centre point, plus I suppose it depends on the subject as a very fast moving subject could be a problem... but there are people shooting fast moving cars with CSC's... so I think that a 5D will probably, possibly, cope ok.

A Mk1 5D is fairly old tech compared to what you have. A 1DS gives the excellent focus for motor sport combined with a FF sensor, but even that's fairly old now too.

Depending on your budget, a 5DII or even a 6D may fit your requirements better.
