The guy looking at the camera is my neighbour jim marching in todays parade, i would like to get this printed and framed up for him because he does a lot of good in my community. As i don't normally do people shots i would appreciate some help with the crop from you pros, thank you :)

Tricky one to answer as there a quite a few distractions round about him. I'd suggest cropping out all but the arm of the chap in front and only the arm of the chap behind him and losing the smaller guy with the glasses.

I'm not a pro, but I think that's ok as it is. (y) I wouldn't crop.

I'd leave it as it is. The red of the poppy draws the eye to him and then allows the viewer to appreciate the solemnity of the occassion and the fact that it affects all generations.

Settled then, thanks for the input everyone :)

I don't think a crop is really necessary but I might consider maybe some selective blurring of the background so as that the elderly lady 'on his shoulder' isn't quite as obvious.
