Critique Crosby Beach

Here's one shot that I was happy with after taking the family to Crosby Beach to see Anthony Gormley's "Another Place". 3 shots bracket composite, testing out my 17-55mm f2.8 Canon.

I'm not really sure that HDR is really needed in this scene? Especially as you've not really retained any particular details in the shadows (admittedly I'm on my iPad) there is something a little odd going on in the background looks like your masking in was not as accurate as it could have been?

Composition I like and it looks like the light was rather nice, I'd love to see a single processed frame with this kind of exposure and tones

It's a pleasant picture. My only critique would be the people in the background; the person in the blue coat is right at the edge of the frame!

I agree with the above. There doesn't look like the need to have 3 shots bracketed? Also, what are the horizontal lines running through the BG? Something not right there.

Is it HDR or what do you mean a composite?

Thanks all. Agree on the odd lines on the background - I went back and looked at my source images and unfortunately - that's a wire fence and bokeh! Might be worth a revisit...
