CS2 Deleting a specific Colour?

I have CS2 and want to know if there is a way of just deleting a certain colour.

In this example i want to delete the black in-between the branches of the tree so i can put a new sky in behind.

I simply want to paint over the whole of the tree without having to zoom in and individually delete each segment, is this possible?

Thanks in advance

magic wand will do that for you
set non-contiguous and click on the black stuff .. you might have to play a few times with the level control to get it nearer.

One thing you can do is use a chanel (r/g/b) the one that has the most contrast, duplicate it, use curves to increase the difference on what you want to select and use the wand on that to get the selection then use that to create a mask to remove what you dont want
