This might be worth of a mention.
the problem is now sorted "properly"
It seems that CS3 ( whether others do this or not I don't know) if it doesn't shut down properly or "crashes" midway, DOESN'T clear out its cache memory and there are large hidden files laying around Yep thats why my hard drive was being eaten up 4 files totaling approx 130Gb yes I did say Gb!
you will need to
Delete them by selecting -> my computer -> C drive (local disc) -> Documents and settings -> *your name* -> local settings -> temp = Then in this folder you need to find "Photoshop temp files" and just delete the file Shift and delete key probabley best option.
I did several "searches" but they never showed up in that.
They are well hidden and don't show in a normal search so make sure that the "show hidden files" option is checked under "internet options"
