Yes
Have you ever had a cull on your photo gear.Get rid of that because i dont use it thing and after a lot of thought put it back in the bag, abit like a old dog, just cant bear to se it go

i'm still building my gear up so no chance of me having a cull with the price of nikon equipment i will be keeping mine for a while yet:)

still building my kit bag up so will be a while before i do that

I have regretted getting rid of kit more times than I have holding on to it.
Don't get rid of any now.

I'm starting to know what gear I use the most, what doesn't earn its keep and what can be purchased to make things complete. Got a 14mm f/2.8 arriving tomorrow from a trade with a 12-24mm f/4 - just didn't use the zoom so thought a prime will be more use. I've ditched a few flashes lately to make room for new gear and more importantly, get some funds together.

I`ll let you know how it feels in a couple of weeks!
Ive just bought a couple of new lens as i wanted IS versions, was tempted to keep hold of the old ones just in case but now im thinking itd be a waste, they`d proberly never get used so i might as well recoup their cost.

I did that recently. Wasnt using my 24-105L lens and sold it. Good to have the dosh, but regretted it straight away!:shake:

I've thought about it, and I'm still seriously considering rationalising my digital camera bag down to just three lenses. I think the discipline of restricted choice would improve my technique. When I need something else I can hire it, e.g. for a special holiday or event.

My original plan was to buy cheap and soon as I got the real deal to sell off the older and cheaper alternatives. I have sold off a few but I seem to have become far too attached to my 50 and 150 Sigma lenses now. Luckily the missus hasn't noticed I have large stocks of gear. shhh

I really need too! I'm in the process of selling off over 150 cameras that my Father left me. If I could keep them all I would, but it's far too much!

I was counting the lenses the other night and there are over a dozen Canon EOS lenses, 18+ Nikon lenses and I use Olympus 4/3 ;) of which I only have 4.

Would it not be worth considering getting a Nikon or Canon body (assuming your new collection are film) and keeping some of the lenses that fit?

Would be a quick way to build up a very nice collection and still sell the bulk for cash?

Where are you selling them? TP or eBay?

Done it several times. Ive lost count of the number of lenses Ive had and sold.
Im trying to control it now, buy buying the best I can and making sure I only buy what I know I need and use the most. Ive stopped browsing ebay so I cant convince myself I need that f/2.8 lens thats ending in 10 minutes...

I used to have about 10 lenses, most of which I never used so I sold all but 2 and then wished I hadnt sold them.
I then sold everything, including all my bodies, and regretted that even more.

Im pretty satisfied with what I have at the moment, although I'd rather have the 85mm f/1.4 than the 50 f/1.4, but thats not going to happen this century!

I'm going to sell my last aps-c only lens in the new year, can't see me selling any more.
