Hi

i have a problem on windows xp where when i type i look up and the cursor has jumped to any point on the page . my Daughter has the same problem .
i thought it might be just xp .

but my daughter just got a new laptop for uni . this is vista and she said last night she was doing some work and it to was doing the same . it happens in email / or writing a doc

any ides how to cure it

Do they have track pad's built in ?? If so try disabling them and using an external mouse.

all 3 use a mouse .. but pads are active .. how do i disable a pad

It tends to vary by laptop, but I would look in the bios (usually DEL or F2 at boot time) or in device manager.

i'll take a look at mine here , but my daughter is in notts uni and on crutches , carried out by a policeman who was on campus at the time .

she was mortified .. all her m8's wanted to know why she was carried to a police car ..

i don't know they will pay to watch one strip

I just had a look at a Dell Latitude D531 and in the BIOS under POST BEHAVIOUR - MOUSE / TOUCHPAD there is an option to disable the touchpad and have a PS2 / USB external mouse.

sorted the acers by presing fn and f7 keys .. need my daughter to be here to look at the dell
