Custom Function for back button focus on gripped 40D

Can anyone tell me how to set it up, please?

Set CFn IV-1 to 2 or 3 (depends when you want to meter the shot)

Page 160 in your user manual.

Bob, I need to switch the af-on and * buttons so it'll work on my grip.

FniV -> Option 1 -> Set to 3

The problem with this is that your grip does not have a AF-ON button, so to fix this you can swap the AF-ON and the * buttons

FnIV -> Option 2 -> Set to Enabled

This will cause the * button to lock focus and the AF-ON will Lock Exposure adn zoom out on image preview.
Of course the problem here is you can not Lock Exposure when using the grip in portrait.

Ah, sorry....CFn IV-2 set it to 1 to swap AF-on and * (page 161)

Thanks, Bob, that's it sorted. I knew there were two CF's to set, but couldn't remember for the life of me what they were.
