D3 - fEE Error

My D3 is coming up with a fEE error when I put on my 50 1.4.
Yet its fine with my other lenses.
I have check the lock ring on the 50 and its a F16 but heres the strange thing it is working fine on my D50?
Any ideas
 
Makes no diffrence. Tryed that checked the contacts.
And I have just took pics with my D50 and its working perfect?
 
the fEE error indicated a communication problem between camera and lens, so doublecheck that it's locked at the smallest aperture, it may be that it's not quite locked in place, but that it's near enough for the D50 but not for the D3...
 
get this with my f/1.8 50mm - make sure the little lever is down in the locked position so the aperture ring doesn't rotate.
 
I had the same message the other day on my D3s with the 85mm on. It was the lock ring not correctly locked. Easily sorted.

I dunno what the deal witn it is.
Lockrings down,and its seems to be ok but i just isnt working.
I will report back later when i have had a play with it.

Keep at it. It will be that. I played with mine (:eek:) for a couple of minutes and it soon sorted it.

Dunno check the lockring its in place yet it still does it.
This is quite annoying now.
