I wouldnt do this personally. Save for a D700/D3 if you want to upgrade.

May be of some use to you, I think there have been quite a few on the D300s so you may have better luck using search as most probably will not want to repeat what has already been said

Ask yourself what the d300s has your d300 doesn't, then ask yourself how much you'd use those features in real life, then work out what it's going to cost you for those features. Personally I'd trade up to the d700, huge difference in low light IQ.

Personally I wouldn't bother unless you really,really need the video feature and the extra 1fps out of the camera without using a battery grip. It's been debated on here before with regards to it's worth, I'm not planning on selling my D300 anytime soon just for the ability to record video that's for sure, but then again in saying that other's may deem it a necessary upgrade.
I'd be more inclined to either get a D700 or wait and see if something else comes along(D400 rumours are aplenty)
