No
i'm reading that it only holds one extra battery, is this true?

if so why do you think this is?

last grip i had for the d100 held 2, wonder what made them change?

the camera still holds two in total, one in the caemra itself in its normal place, then another in the grip

you can put in an EN-EL4 for 8fps aswell with the correct chamber

Yes, its because the EN-EL4 is a much physically bigger battery

oh aye, i get it, no stick bit to slot into the camera

does it come with the elen4 thing or just the grip?

No, the EN-EL4 is extra.... and then you need the special charger and the expensive plastic battery cover... couple of hundred quid in all to take you up to 8fps and a battery that is good for several thousand shots.

Alternatively the included AA battery holder will also give you the 8fps

I went the AA route and bought two sets of 8 Eneloop batteries and an extra MS-D10 tray so I can change quickly, plus one EN-EL3e in the camera anyway

Can't see the point of spending £100 for the EN-EL4a, £120 on the MH-21 charger plus you need the BL-3 battery cover as well which is another £23. Not cheap
