With a Nikon D300. under Image Quality, what will Raw +JPEG fine/normal /basic give me ? I understand and use RAW albeit now CS3 cant cope with it,upgrade on the way, but dont understand these double settings, Will they allow me to process them in CS3 ?without the upgrade ?
Many Thanks

With the raw and jpeg setting the camera will record 2 images to the memory card, one is the raw file while the other is a jpeg of varying quality depending on which one you select. I do not know if you can update the raw plug in on cs3 to allow you to use it to edit the raw files, but you would be able to open the jpegs.

It just means that you get a JPEG as well without having to do any conversion process from RAW. So yes, you'd be able to process them in your current version of CS3 but you wouldn't get any of the benefits of the RAW file.

It can be useful if, for instance, you are travelling around the world and want to post pics easily on your blog, but still want RAW files that you can edit carefully once you get home again. You choose the quality setting depending on your needs.

I used CS3 for RAW 300 files for yonks, are you sure it won`t see them?

Perhaps an upgrade for the ACR file?
