D300 VERSUS D700 FOR SHOWJUMPING

Going to do a bit of showjumping photography where I will have to stand at the edge of the arena. I intend to use my Nikon 70-200 VR2 lens on either the D300 or D700. I realise the 'reach' will be diminished with the D700 due to being full format but if the horsies are close this may not matter. Opinions please. merv

Na then Merv, I do very little sports, but do a lot of wildlife stuff. Perhaps the two are somewhat similar, who knows, but let me state this:

The D700 murders the D300 at AF and high ISO.Simple as that. But the D300 has the cute little thing called a 1.5 crop factor................
