I don't get DxO's overall ratings.

The overall ratings never make any sense if you look at the stats pages.

I compare the graphs and numbers, and the overall scores never seem to make sense, even taking prices into account.

If you look at previous Pentax models they were usually marked down on DXO due to poor ISO performance but on certain (American) Pentax forums they more or less accused them of being biased or not knowing what they were doing.

Now on the same forums all of a sudden DXO are getting massive praise for publishing these K-5 figures.

Personally I find them interesting but I will reserve judgement until I have used the camera for a few days.

The k-5 certainly looks excellent.

Pentax are hopefully going to get a proper hold in the high model APS-C area with this one.

I disagree with the way DxO presents it's signal to noise graphs. For me it defaulted to the setting 'screen' which shows comparison of 100% files. And since I was comparing two cameras with a vastly difference MP count, this is obviously not the way to do it. You have to switch to 'print' to get scaled down comparisons to show 'like for like' noise. Which is quite misleading. A lot of the time, people viewing on screens will be viewing at low percentages. You only ever see the 100% if you're pixel peeping or selling MAAASSIVE prints. So why have they called it 'screen' and 'print'?

I don't like completely numbers based sites like this.

A one or two paragraph conclusion explaining the results and the overall score would be welcome!
