Anyone used this or other 3rd party wireless remote with D300/D200?

Any issues with it or limitations (like taxi radios setting it off)?

What sort of distance did you get (I am after 20-30 feet in line of sight)?

If camera pre-set on manual focus will a single press release the shutter? (am hoping to wire the remote to a relay).

Thanks for any input.
 
Most of the Ebay-type remotes will give you 100+ ft range without the need for line of sight, that and the interference issue will depend on the specific remote though....
 
Are those radio channel remotes or infra red ones? Do the infra red ones even work with the D300?
 
I recently bought one of the Hanhel Giga remotes. Excellent bit of kit. Remote works through walls, too! Not as cheap as the cheapo ebay ones mind, but it does more than simply release the shutter. you can do timed release, switch from single to multiple shots from the remote, and timed exposures, too.:thumbs:
 
The simpler the remote the better really as it's going to get a little butchered. For the money I will give it a whirl. I have the ML-L3 remote and can get hold of a D70 body so may try that set up. It only dawned on me today that the D300 & D200 don't have the built in IR reciever!!!!
 
I bought a phoetix (£20) off ebay from HK about 2 years ago used it loads on my D300 its fine does the job. What more do you want why pay £200 ?
 
just get an rf602 trigger off ebay, get the one marked D300 and it'll come with the right cable :)
