D300S Download Problems

I went out for a photo shoot this morning with my camera bag. When I came home I tried downloading files from my D300S to my PC (operating on Windows 7). There was a familiar ping after I connected the camera via a USB cable and switched it on. However I then couldn't find the files using Windows.

I have switched cables and switched memory cards, but not been able to solve the problem. My D300 and D200 still download fine, and by moving the memory card from the D300S to the D300 I did get the files taken on the D300S downloaded easily. It is almost (apart from the connection "ping") as if my PC doesn't know that the D300S exists. It doesn't appear to be a cable or memory card problem.

I can however get the D300S to download the files to my laptop: it is just my big PC that doesn't like it. This kind of implies that it isn't a camera problem, doesn't it?

I would be grateful for any ideas about what may be the problem, and how I might fix it?

I have just managed to fix the problem by puddling about myself:

I went to "Control Panel" then "Troubleshooting", and opted for "configure a device" under "hardware and sound". It told me that I needed to reload the driver for the D300S and then it did it for me.

All's well that ends well!
