Hi there,

I seem to have dust or lint or a GULP watermark somewhere...now it's not coming up on images nor is it the lens which i have changed/cleaned. Certainly isnt just the view finder which leaves...the mirror or sensor right?

If it's NOT showing up in the image, could it be the sensor at all? Now i think i made the ultimate rookie and even more ultimate stupid mistake of taking a cloth to what i thought was the mirror. Yes i am silly. And i fear i have made it worse.

Anyways my question is this, is getting a blower from Jessops a cunning plan to resolve my stressy problem or perhaps take it into Fixation for a 30 pound clean?

Any help would be appreciated and any laughter at my sillyness well deserved!

(PS: i took the camera to the beach, this cause be the evil cause of said spot?)
 
It'll be on the mirror if its not on images. If its on the sensor it will show up. Could also be on the focus screen which lies horizontally above the sensor. If it bugs you that much, then get it cleaned, if not.. leave it.

What settings have you tried to rule out the sensor? Dust/dirt will only show at high f/numbers, usually f/11 or higher against bright white or sky.

Try a shot at f/16 shooting a bright white wall or the sky and see what it looks like.

I was thinking of just trying to blow them off, they are really annoying me. I havnt tried at a high f number but i will tonight.

No, they aren't any good really. Buy a Giottos Rocket blower if you want to take that route.
Just beware if you dont know where the dust is, you risk blowing it from where ever it might be onto the sensor, and then you'll have to clean the sensor too.
Find out where it is first before doing anything.
 
Oh pants. This side of cameras is beating me! I shall take the high f number sky photo and investigate.
