D3X repair cost

Dear all,

I recently purchased a D3X second-hand and then recently, bizarrely after changing a lens (which might be a complete red herring) the mirror no longer functions correctly, only partially opening.

So I've sent it back to Nikon and have just had the estimate of over £600, the main part of which is to replace the front body part (part 1C999-769) plus some replacement rubber parts.

My question is whether this part includes the mirror unit and therefore likely to resolve the problem or do you think I run the risk of having additional work specific to the mirror that has not yet been quoted for?

Lastly, would it be likely that someone like Fixation may do this cheaper or are they both similar in cost terms? Bill also includes for 2.5 hours plus vat.

Any and all answers welcome,

Many thanks
