D40 D60 differences

A mate of mine has just bought a secondhand D40 and I was wondering if my "D60 for dummies book" would help him

Am i right in thinking the menus etc in the camera are the same and the main difference is the amount of pixels ?

If the book would be relevant I want to give it him to help him out but only if theres relevant info

Very Very little difference, the D60 book will cover 99% of the D40.
