d5000 af lens

I thought that lens does not have a built in motor and so won't AF with the D5000

I'm just looking at these on Clifton Cameras

The listing includes the words
LENS NOW COMES WITH MOTORISED FOCUSSING FOR NIKON CAMERAS THEREFORE IS COMPATIBLE WITH D40 / D40X / D60 ETC. MODELS

From that wording I'd assume that Tamrom have revised the design of this lens and that it hasn't always had a focus motor. Might be something for your friend to consider if he's looking to buy used.

EDIT: Although since they only mention Nikon's older models this all probably happened a while ago.

Yeahh it works fine with my D5000 :) AF likes to hunt around a bit sometimes but not the end of the world.. most of the time.
