If you forget ergonomics would you say the d5300 is better than the d7000? IQ wise

So I'm guessing the extra mp and lack of aa filter make little difference
 
Made a decision =D> will sell the fz1000 and put it to a d7000 /7100 or d600 just have to decide which?
 
Just been looking around is the d7100 worth £150 more than the d7000
 
It wasn't imo but then again i sold both for Fuji and am much happier.

There was very little difference in iso ability between the two for me, can't say i noticed much difference in focus speed either.
 
Wi fi and GPS of no interest but I'd rather save the extra on the 7000 maybe?
 
Correct me if I'm wrong but I get the overall impression from the d5200 -7100 there's nothing in it IQ wise it's more about ergonomics
 
They're all similar. If someone showed you a pic of a file from a D3100 and a D7100 i doubt very much you or 99% of people could tell which was from what. You're whitling about minor differences when the real quality comes from what glass you put on the front of it.

Buy a D7k and spend the spare cash on good glass. The higher end bodies offer you more in the way of user exprience. You can alter things without having to go into the menus, the ability to use older D lenses, the top LCD screen which can be invaluable and the twin dial control.

I handled the d7000 'when it came out loved it but couldn't afford it back then I had the 60d I think at the time
 
I know what I need prime wise but will probably be after a 300mm later
 
Bought the d7100 today grey but £ 286 cheaper and.new

Can you expand on that??? As a number of people have stated the Sony sensor in the D7000 is better than the Toshiba one in the D7100. Nikon have also gone back to Sony for the D7200.

I have owned both cameras and interested how you come to the conclusion.
 
I think you could discuss these things all day long, the tests I've seen show the 7100 to be a little sharper the 24mp gives more room to crop and it's upgraded a few other bits and bobs like the screen resolution etc not deal breaker's but personally things I'd rather have than not have so it was worth paying a little extra for. From what I've seen the sensor is still an upgrade..if not a major one

I think that was a wise choice. I'm sure I heard something that the reason they released the D7100 was because of the issues that the D7000 had. Namely it had focusing issues. I had the D7100 briefly and it was a great camera but I couldn't get used to Nikon so I went back to Canon :)
 
I'm more used to canon I had the 60d for longer than any other camera, I would have gone 70d had the prices been lower but happy with my decision we'll see how I get on
 
Not read or seen a bad review on it so looking forward to it

The conclusion was partly common sense (24mp v 16mp, better AF), partly DxO test results. I posted a link to the results in post #9. Here it is again:

The test shows that the D7100 is a step forward across the board.
