Hi guys,

here's my problem, I've been saving cash up for a telephoto lens, namely a Sigma 150-500mm(though I want a nikkor 70-200/80-200). Now I have had my D60 for 4.5 months now, theres still the 2 year warranty, and what not.

But heres the thing, I was talking to someone who's selling his D200 off for AU$750(388 GBP) the camera has no warranty, and has only 2,258 shutter actuations.

Now i only have a kit lens, my idea was to save up for a kit lens, but the ones I really want are AF-D and AF DX. I tend to do lots of outdoor shots of landscape, and nature. and birding.

Also when I go out, I only use M mode(manual for cannon folk) I don't use any other mode, and I keep thinking for AU$750 this body upgrade may be worth my while. Im not joking when I say I never use any of the landscape/portrait or any of that nonsense, its either M or sometimes.. S(but rarely)

Also on that bombshell I know someone who's selling his AF-D 80-200mm for $1000(518GBP) they retail here for 780GBP. right now the funds i have available for be comfortably spending is about AU$1100. (I have pplenty more but for certain reasons i'd only spend that much.

Also if I buy the D200, I intend selling the D60 as a body only, Im wondering if I'd be able to seel that off quick enough for a fair amount to buy a new lens for the D200.

What do you guys think? is the D200 an upgrade? will it be worthwhile?

Now to finish

get the d200 - its what enticed me to a d300 and the d300 is great.

Also get a tokina 11-16 (as you like landscapes) if you get a good lens (I did with only some weird exposures occassionally) its wonderful :)

Can you borrow the d200 for a day or two and try it out??

Sadly I can't he lives in sydney, I live in perth; thats about 3900km distance. I have tried out the D300 with a 50mm f/1.8 today that felt very good in my hands, alot easier to hold then the D60 I think.

Ive bought the D200, but the guy has put the 80-200 on auction, but hes put a reserve.

Ive just bought a 50mm f/1.8D and theres some other people that are selling a 300mm f/4 for AUD$350, an 18-200VR a tamron 70-300mm and 28mm f/2.8 so i'll think about it :D

In May this year I went from D70S to D200, and the difference is night and day.I cant believe how much better the 200 is.
