Well, my new spare body arrived today. Charged the battery, switched it on... nothing. Swapped batteries... nothing. Put the new D600 battery in D800... fine. Not a battery problem.


Two weeks or more to get here, and it's knackered.

This wasn't meant to be. :(
 
I'm reluctant to say, as being DOA isn't necessarily their fault, but then again, taking 2 weeks to get here is... let's say they're well known and based in HK and leave it at that.
 
The delivery time delay is likely down to the chinese new year.

Unfounate that the camera is d.o.a I am sure your replacement will arrive much quicker.
 
Mine took 4 days from HDEW works like a dream and fantastic service. Could happen with any electrical item but really sucks when you are looking forward to recieving it. Hope they swap it out quicker for you.
 
Hope you manage to get it sorted / replaced as soon as...

Not a nice feeling when you've bought something.
 
This is one of the reasons I would rather pay a little more and buy from a retail outlet and If there is a problem you can just go back to the shop.
Got mine from Currys which is a ten minute walk from my home.
Hope you get it sorted soon.
