D70 eBay grip

I've not seen/used these but I think you've mis-read the bit about the IR. The way it reads to me is that it has an IR sensor for remote use. I know when I had a grip on my D40 it used the IR sensor in portrait mode but I'm not sure this is the same :shrug:

Also, not sure if there's any difference between the D70 and D70s in this respect. You really should check with the seller that it'll work with the plain D70.
 
The only differences on the D70s are a larger screen really. The body is the same. I believe there is a wire that comes from the grip up to the ir sensor. To be honest it was just a thought to maybe stop me 'having' to buy a D200 and grip. (Most of my photos are now portrait and need something comfortable to hold)
