just :thinking:wondering if any one else has this set up, how much distortion would you expect from this.

have taken some pictures of sea side looking out to sea, the horizon has a distinct bow towards both sides, it is enough to see it.

i was wondering if this is normal or not and needing rectified.

i have been using a 30d and 10 20 siggy there didnt appear to be any distortion to the extent of the d700.

advice welcome.

The difference is that the d700 is full frame and so uses much more of the light gathered by the lens. This means that any distortion at the extremeties of the frame is shown using an FF camera. Plenty of image editing software has quick fixes for distortion and set amounts can even be stored and repeated at a click of a button.

cheers was aware of the light but was not sure to the extent of distortion, using light room and PS and the grids shows the extent but not to bad just wondering what others have experieinced with it.

again thanks for the info.

barrel and pin cushion will show up more on FF as (TH is getting at) the lens is projecting a larger image - the error gets worse with the distance from the centre.

mjuch appreciated, happy with the replies, the distortion is is not bad and will recitfy wth PS, just wanted to check and make sure no majorproblems.

cheers
