D700 AND SB800 ISSUE

Hi Guys

For some reason my TTL mode on the SB is not mirroring my cameras settings? i shoot in manual, i am right in thinking it should be the same- as in through the lens? I have to manually use the sb800 buttons to change anything, so regardless my camera settings never match the flash?!! help

ok in TTL mode on the flash the flash is meant to mirror the settings of the D700?

so iso and aperture is pre defined on the flash but what the camera is reading? thats my understanding of TTL mode?

Hmm are you saying when you take a picture you are not getting a correct exposure?

There is a well know fault with some d700 hotshoes, where it misfires. Does the flash fire when you take a picture?...

yeah it never gives a correct reading as its not reading the settings as my camera?!

Do you have a second flash you can try on the body.
