D700 & CF card.... Different remain pic reading

I owned a D300s which had both CF & SD cards... The reading alone with the 4gb CF card was 361 on L JPEG FINE setting....

Now the same card is now in my D700 & its reading is over 500+ :thinking: How comes :shrug:

I remember this when I got my D700, It was something to do with how the Jpeg files are optimised, I had to alter something in the menu. If no one comes up with the correct answer soon then I will check out my manual for you.

Would that be something to do with size priority & optimal quality .... Should really read the manual shouldn't I... :$

Yes, I have just checked and that what I had to adjust. I have mine set on Optimal Quality.
 
The algorithims that estimate pictures reminaing are somewhat improved on the d700 too

Changed the setting & now it reads 340 sumink.... Too used to the D300s & having all the settings set - I need to go thru the D700 & change a few (if I can remember which ones I did before :lol:)

I'm using a 16gb card in my D700 which easily gives me a good days shooting.
