Just recently bought a new D700 after not being able to hold out any longer for new Nikon FX cameras..

Quick question, is there a preferred 3rd party grip? I used a meike grip on my D7000 and found it to be more than adequate

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Cheers

you love it sonsy.

I need a grip!!

I don't think you do mate. It's handy for portrait mode but I have got well over 1500 clicks (could probably have got more) on the normal battery and a second battery is as cheap as chips. Like you said yourself you probably don't need the 8fps.

These seem to be the cheapest at the moment.

You will need both to get the 8fps. You might be better waiting though as they come up on ebay all the time with the grip, adaptor, battery and charger for around £80 delivered.

Don't think ill bother with the 8fps just gonna get a grip and additional battery(s) would be interested in that one but the delivery time is quite long!

This is the only one you should even be considerinh, the Meike, these sellers are brilliant and itll be with you quickly as its in the UK, ALSO INCLUDES EVERY ACCESSORY INCLUDING THE bl-3 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Verticle-Battery-Grip-Nikon-MB-D10-D300-D300s-D700-/320853620022?pt=UK_Camera_Battery_Grips&hash=item4ab45db536

Gary does that mean if I buy the grip you have linked to I just need a battery to get the 8FPS?

Do you use one of these grips? how do you know its the meike grip? Thanks for the link I think i'll buy that one!

You'd either need a en-el4 battery and a charger or you could use 8xAA batteries. Can't remember if rechargeables work.

Just bought that meike one that you linked me to Gary. Thanks for the advice! will only be using the grip really when doing a wedding etc so im sure it will serve me well
