Ive put a 8 brand new rechargable duracell batteries ( fully charged) in my grip, and it still wont reach 8fps, anyone know why?
 
Just guessing but it could be a shortfall in voltage. Alkaline AA cells are 1.5V each (nominal) while some rechargeables (NiCd and NiMH) are only 1.2. Many devices cope fine with the lower voltage but in a multi cell application, the drop can be appreciable - over the 8 cells, it's a 2.4V shortfall. Another possibility is low light - if the exposures aren't short enough, the camera can't achieve its full speed.
 
Have you told the camera to use the grip batteries rather than the camera one?
Have you got a limit on FPS for the CH dial? (it can be set anywhere from 3-8)

Yes ive changed to AA Nimh use first.
How do i tell the camera the limit in the menu screen?
It shows me CL mode shooting speed 1-7 (even tho it has a max of 5fps)
And doesnt show the CH mode in the menu screen at all ?

Just thought id add to this, bought a brand new set of Duracel 1,5 alkaline battieries.
Still no look, is it something in camera i need to be changing?
 
Shooting RAW or jpg?
Any noise reduction setting on?
Shutter speed set to longer than 1/125s?
 
If you're shooting outside, it could be an effect of the low temperatures we're currently "enjoying". Did you alter the battery type setting when you swapped the NiMH cells for alkaline ones?

yeah done all that, is there a setting on the menu to alter the FPS on CH?
