D700 Menu items greyed out

I have just noticed on my D700 that under Shooting Menu the 'image size' is greyed out as is the 'lock mirror up for cleaning' under the Setup Menu.
I was going to blow my sensor but cannot use this function to get mirror lock up
Any ideas please

I think the mirror lock up for cleaning only works when the battery is pretty much fully charged. To protect against the battery running out and the shutter snapping shut while you are in the middle of swabbing it!

It's just low battery, and the size one is as mentioned, when you shoot RAW. How long have you had the camera? And you never noticed this? :D You must keep your batteries well charged at all times!
 
You were spot on with your suggestions. Had the camera about 3 years and don't mess with the sensor that often.
I had 48% charge in one of the batteries so would have thought this would have been enough even for a full wet clean

With my D90 I think it has to be above 60% at least before you can lock up the mirror for a clean.
