Hi,
I want to do star trails with the D700 and heard it has a self timer to do time-lapse photography!? I just wanted to know is it easy to set up and does it work?

Turn the dial to self timer and press the shutter..
Or do you mean an intervelometer?

In that case, choose it in the menu, select the time length, number of shots and duration and off it goes.

Intervelometer!? Yeah that one, I want to take like 150 photos at 30sec each, do I need to worry about the speed that it writes to the CF card?
 
No, it should cope with that easilly if you mean 150 in total and not 150 every 30 seconds!

I wish it would take 150 every 30sec lol I know I'm being lazy, but do you what the max number you can take on the setting? Thanks
