I dont need the 36mp, 20-24 is way enough for me so i think ill stick with running it at 20mp for a while, get used to that increase then gradually make the transition to the full 36mp

LOLz Tommy the jealousy is hanging clean out of you that I have a D800 now. Raging you are son. Its okay to give you some consolation I havent got my 35 1.4 yet hahaha

You can shoot 3 different file sizes in Jpeg, 36, 20 and 10mpMy research when I bought the D600 led me to believe that this wasn't possible on the D800, it was either 36MP or about 15MP in crop mode and that's it. I stand to be corrected mind.
Anytime ShaheedCheers Gary
I may take you up on that once I've saved a few more pennies!!

Just seen there is a D800 in the classified section here, going for £1500 - If it were me asking this question atm, I would jump on that.
Indeed. Not a lot more than you'd have had to pay for a D700 only a year or so ago. Looks something of a bargain.
Would have a look but don't meet criteria as yet :0(
Thanks SR, great pics.
Feel of the D600 did put me off a little due to small size, wife liked the feel which made me more concerned :0).
