D700

I love my D700. Well pleased with the purchase. Though I'm not happy that I bounced it yesterday :(

So far it seems to be working fine though. Build quality is very good (thankfully!)

Well, to me at least, it sounded as if you and a D3 have been up to no good :nono: :p

I have just purchased a D700 and have "rationalised" my camera gear as most of my lenses were DX. It was actually quite good fun and the D700 is definitely worth it :D

When I bought the D300 I thought it would be enough for me for years to come. How wrong was I when I tried the D700. This thing is in a different league... I want I want!

I am a mover from Canon (40D) to the D700. Whilst the 40D was a cracker of a camera, the D700 is in a different league (i guess the cost justifies that!!) in terms of build, iso performance, functionality etc.

I wouldn't say I am in love with the D700 ( in so much as not sleeping  ) but I am glad I made the move.

This is my biggest fear and also the reason why I won't go and play with one.

i bought an s5 instead of a d300 because im hoping that sensor will work its way down the food chain and will become more affordable in a year or so

Haven't played with a D700 but what was so good that you instantly felt the need for a D700?

I find these threads depressing however I will continue to be loyal to me D200! On a side note I like to lust after the best which is why I am lusting after the D800. I like lusting after this camera particularly since it hasn't actually come into existence yet :p.

The D300 is cracking, but I must admit it was neglected for a bit when I got my D3. I have to say thgouh that since trying my 24-70mm f:2.8 out on it, the D300 sings once more. I'm travelling to some relatives for the Easter weekend and the only reaosn I'm consdiering taking the D3 is to have a further play with it, otherwise I'd be taking the grip off the D300 and taking that.

I got a D300 over 12 months ago, thought that it would be my last for a while, then I tried the D700. Its like another leap forward. I kept the 300 and it gets good service but the 700 is my 1st choice.

Mart.

lol... Really?! - would have to be pretty special to warrant the £600 or so notes more?!

It's just much more versatile a camera, essentially. You're in a position to shoot photos in conditions that the D300 isn't capable of.
