D7000 Buffer

Looking for a bit of help on the above.

I know that the D7000 buffer is not great but is there anything I can do to make it better - memory card etc.

I have been trying to take some action sports shots with this camera recently and get frustrated when the buffer fills after only a few shots.

Can someone tell me in simple terms how many shots I should be able to take in the buffer and what a faster memory card may do for me.

It will say in the viewfinder or top panel rxx. It all depends on what quality setting you have it on. With Jpeg fine I find I can almost continuously shoot. with my ultra fast cards. but raw is a lot less and Jpeg and raw is about 10 shots.

I am a birder and like you was very frustrated at the buffer size on the D7000 when shooting continuously until I invested in some SanDisk 30mb cards.
Sorry can't can't tell you exactly how many shots it can take in a burst, but for me the buffer size is no longer an issue and I shoot RAW.

Get the Sandisk 45 MB/s cards and then it's not too bad. you get 10-11 shots in RAW then 2 frames every second and a bit, or about 7-8 seconds to clear. Far better than with class 10s

I use the SanDisk Extreme 30MB/s and when I tested I got around 6 shots in RAW, then a further shot every second (ish).
