Is there any way to set the max shutter speed so it cannot be set higher than say 200 because I do a lot of shoots with studio lights and although the setup should allow a max sinc of 250; at that speed I often just catch the shutter. I do set the shutter speed but sometimes the wheel gets jogged, it's just a bit annoying really.

super glue or araldite should work ,,,other than that keep checking the shutter speed before each shot :D

It's a bit annoying, I have seen some Canon photographers lock the settings. I don't know if any Nikons have that?

have a look at >controls>f8 shutter speed and aperture lock hth mike. this is from my d700 think the menus are similar

does the locking lever do that or does it just lock the point of focus ?

Personally I think that locking the focus point is completely useless, I have never used it or thought of when I should use it.

To be honest, I think your best bet would be to be more careful when shooting. I dont understand how you are jogging the wheel...just keep your thumb off of it.

Sent from my phone as I cant be a***d to turn the PC on.
