D7000 or D300s for photojournalism

I'm looking to upgrade my backup camera soon. I've been considering ethier the D7000 or D300s. I've heard mixed reviews, and was wondering wether anyone has experience using ethier or both of these?

I mostly shoot in a photojournalism style at weddings, corporate events etc. The quality of the autofocus system, and image quality at higher ISO's are my main concern in camera choice.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
 
weddings on a crop sensor? Fuji S5 pro..........far better dynamic range and colours than the D300s and maybe the 7000 from what I have read. or of course a D700.

but only if you believe the DXO ratings. Thom Hogan and DP review think differently. A s/h s5 pro can be had for £450 - £500 and they are built like a tank, ideal for pro use...........

I doubt the colours will match the S5pro either.............certainly the D90 and D300 lag behind slightly in this area.

Any of the cameras will give good results, for pro use cost comes into it as well

like you said one says one thing another says something different, but tecnology moves on, and the d7000 also has a better af system and better metering,
i use 2 d300 for wedding and have no probs, but i have just brought a d700 so that will be my main camera for weddings.
i think the d300 will last longer than a d7000 as it has better build.
