Hi,

I have a Nikon SB-800 Flash on a rotating bracket, a D7000 Body and a SC-29 Cable connecting the both.

The flash as a gary fong type diffuser and is pointing straight up towards the ceiling.

On the SC-29 cable it has a switch for the AF illuminator for the SB-900.

Question is - should this on? or turn off to use the AF illuminator on the hot shoe end of the cable.

Here is the pic :

Thanks.

P.S. I was shooting party pics and some of them came out slightly overexposed using the setup above. Using TTL/TTL BL on the flash.

Be grateful for any input. :)
