D7000 - shutter vibration 'clunk'

Hi

Im not sure this is the correct section to be asking this but here goes...

I have a D7000 which is my first DSLR. Now, it is probably just my inexperience but when I take a shot with the camera, I get quite a prominent little 'clunk' vibration which I can feel in my hands as well as my eyebrow when looking through the view finder.

Like I say, im not experienced with DSLR's, but I would have thought this vibration right as you're taking a shot can't be good?! Does it sound like I have a faulty unit?

By DSLR standards the D7000 is very quiet (you will still here the clunk though), you'll get a slight bit of movement when you press the shutter as you would hand-holding any camera. Just for peace of mind I would go to a shop & try a similar D7000 just to rule out any faulty hardware.

It's hard for me to realistically try another D7000 or almost any DSLR tbh. After reading up on the net for the past 2 days, I am slightly concerned I have a faulty unit.
 
Don't worry about it. Most of the vibration comes from the mirror flapping down undamped after the exposure.
 
No, its a lot steadier in Q mode and the shots are better as a result. I know I can simply use it in Q but I was just wondering if this was normal?
