D7000 view finder dust!

I have a D7000 which is only a couple of months old but when looking through the viewfinder I can see dust specks!
These don't affect the pics at all so are not on the sensor!
If I look through the viewfinder without a lens attached you can still see them.
This is very of putting when composing an image and was wondering if anyone has any ideas about getting them off!
I have already had a good blow around with my Giottos blower to no avail.
 
All DSLRs will eventually end up with dust in the viewfinder, and on the sensor. It's just a question of time. All my cameras have a spot or two of dust in the viewfinder. If you can't get it out with a rocket blower, then I wouldn't try any further - there are too many things you can screw up.

Personally I'd just leave it and try to learn to live with it. If you can't then I'd suggest sending the camera to Nikon. However when it comes back clean you'll probably end up with a dust spot again within a few months.

It's just one of those things that happens.
 
My old trusty D40 didn't get dust in the viewfinder in the whole two years of using whilst it not having a clue, my D7000 got it within a week, I think there is something about the design that makes certain cameras more prone to dust but I don't have a clue what haha
 
More than likely it is on the focusing screen at the top of the mirror box, try giving it a blow with a rocket blower, do not touch it with a brush or lens cloth.

You actually won't be able to see dust on the mirror, unless they are giant specs. Most dust one sees in the viewfinder is on the bottom side of the focusing screen - easy to remove with a blower.

Guess I will just have to live with it as I can't shift it with the rocket blower!
No point in paying to get it cleaned for it to just happen again!
Maybe get it done at the same time as the sensor once that becomes dirty to the point I can't cope anymore!
 
I just got my D5100 and thought it had a load of dust ... 'till I realised I was looking at the AF markers :)
 
Had you used the blower before the dust appeared?
