D7000

Ok, I'm new here and as stated in my introduction thread, I fancy a D7000.
What are anybodys thoughts on these generic battery grips that are avialable for about £40. Cheers

Ask yourself first of all....Why do I want a grip, do I need a grip.

For the average Tog a grip is not necessary, the money is better spent on another piece of superfluous kit

I tried the D7000 and it produces excellent images, but I was happier with the build/size/layout of the D300. I'm hoping that a much expected Nikon announcement will bring us a decent D300 upgrade in the very near future...

I use a Meike (ebay, £40 ish) grip on my D300 and find it to be excellent!! I recently compared it to my mates genuine MDB10 and it is pretty much identical. Yes the genuine Nikon is Mag alloy and the Meike plastic, but once it's on the camera both feel just the same. The tripod mount has a metal reinforcing plate inside so i'm quite happy to use it with the Black Rapid strap.
