Yes
If I fire shutter on my d7100 looking through the viewfinder with autofocus it's crisp! If I shoot using live view it's out of focus!

Can it be adjusted?????

What lens are you using with the Live View? AF doesn't work with some 3rd party lenses when using LV.

Yeah, i have found this when trying to use a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 (both VR and non VR), neither would focus properly in LV, my Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 works perfectly though

I just tried a few shots with mine. First ones with LV and normal were exactly the same sharpness. 2nd ones, the LV image wasn't as sharp, but I think that's down to the size of the focus area, LV being a lot bigger, so if you are focusing on something small, you may not focus on the part you want sharp, which is what I was doing.
Probably!
Re the Tamron 17-50, mine wouldn't focus at all in LV

My Tamron 17-50mm would just hunt from one end to the other and back continuously in LV, and the same thing happened on a friends D7000, never got the the reason why, i just ended up trading in the Tamron for a Sigma....... simples ;)

I love my siggy 18-35 1.8 art lens but when in live view the whole frame is out of focus! But looking through vf it's perfect

Check that there isn't some setting where in LiveView you're stuck in Manual Focus : in other words make sure the settings are set for AF in Live View.

so whats the difference when taken with an art lens ? or a nnon art lens ??

Nothing... it's just people talking balls as usual.

How constructive?

Art lenses are the new quality range from sigma! When I researched my purchase it was tested against the ziess range of primes! ( top of the range 18-24-35mm primes and it was sharper than them all!

It focuses and beeps to let me know it's focused but when I take the shot with live view and review it its out of focus! If I do the same looking through vf and review its sharp! It's almost as if it needs fine tuning

AF in live view isn't as good, depending on detail/contrast/distance of the subject. Manual focus should be accurate though. Fine-tuning doesn't do anything for AF in LV.

Yeah I did think I wouldn't be able to fine tune it in live view only ! I don't use live view anyway! It's just I was shooting group shots at a wedding and used live view and lost the lot as they were out of focus! Luckily I converted to B+W and softened them and pulled it off!
